Donna Robinson Making the most of one of Sydneys many playgrounds for the girls. It was so quaint, hidden under a humongous tree & beautifully landscapes. Huge grassed area for dogs to run around.

Rupali J Beautiful park with loads of fig trees. Great place for a nice walk and exploration

Dragon Heart Sherpa What a beautiful place to be lost in the greenery, read the history of the place, imagine yourself in those days, how hard people worked to give this garden this shape & quietly give gratitude to the makers. A gentle thank you for the beautiful fig trees, giving shade & oxygen, at the age of 60 I sat on the swing & managed to take a selfie video thanks to modern phones…loved the automatic washroom, music played while one peed … what a journey. Could smile at myself & enjoyed walking from St. Leonard’s to Brennan Park to Oyster Cove & back home to St. Leonards. Have taken videos of quaint looking birds too… so happily dancing in the park.

E K A beautiful park with plenty of space for play and picnicking. It is very lush with magical old tees which would enchant any child.

Oliver Revis Amazing place to go for a walk hidden away between Berry Island and Wollstonecraft Station. Great fun when its raining. From the Berry Island end of the track you can also continue into the Badangi Reserve.

Cordelia A pocket of peaceful bushland on Sydney’s lower North Shore teeming with birds. I’ve been doing this walk for years and always find something new. Highlights: - a tree that’s grown around a Triumph engine - the sound of whip birds - hidden overgrown staircase that leads to the harbour where you can sit on a rock and watch the cormorants dive - see if you can spot the eels swimming in the creek - the view of the city from the stairs up to Greenwich - catching a glimpse of the male superb fairy wren’s cute little blue face - spotting the resident powerful owl and tawny frog mouth families - the sound of the creek, which is like a cliche babbling brook with water flowing over rocks - chatting to friendly fellow walkers and their dogs. Enter via Russel St to get the full length of the walk. Wear sturdy shoes as it can be slippery in parts. When you reach the end, turn right to go to Berry Island reserve where you’ll find bubblers and public toilets.

Karl Chong This is such a great trail. Its usually pretty quiet and gets a little dark about an hour before sunset, so be careful not to go too late. I like to trail run along this reserve but hiking/walking is also good. I prefer the afternoons as the lighting is gorgeous

Mikael Besse What a great little place to hang out or walk on a nice day in order to get some fresh and cold air :) Discovered this place completely by luck looking on a map and was amazingly surprised by such beauty and calm so close to the city. Highly recommended!

Abhi This trail is a hidden gem as soon as you walk down from Smoothey park it takes you deep into the bush. It’s hard to believe that you are minutes away from the hustle of pacific highway. Good for walking and running with some steep parts. An amazing getaway from the city above and connected with badangi and berry island reserves.

Alexandra Barrantes Really like this park, have a good track that finish in a lovely green area with sea view where you can have a picnic. Definitely a place to visit.

Gilberto Olimpio Beautiful place for a walk or just for relaxing. The sound of the Berrys Creek makes the park feel even more peaceful and enjoyable. The longest walk underneath the bridge is still on my to do list, but you dont need to do it in order to fully enjoy the park. From the top of the bridge you have a good view of the creek which is probably my favourite spot in the park so far.

Thursday Lang This is a little walk-through one-bench park for accessing Wollestonecraft station. There are two paths - the lit and paved one which leads directly to the station, or the lower track that meanders through the bush by a little creek.

S W Weve been here many times, its always quiet and comfy, perfect for a picnic or BBQ with friends. Its busier on public holidays but with room for many groups its not crowded. We went for a walk to the coal loader at Waverton with kids, its fun for the kids.

Peter Bx Great open area for picnics, large newly renovated children’s playground. Good views from the lookout and bustle walk. 15 mins from Waverton train station. Good anchorage for boats.
4 /5
Ernie Shepherd This is a very nice and beautiful spot for a short walk DOG friendly, I guess must get busy on the weekends, but I went on a cloudy day so there was pretty much no one around. Beautiful views beautiful trees and beautiful big esplanade for the puppies to run .

Firoz Alam A great spot for a picnic. Beautiful views of a small part of the Sydney harbour area and the city skyline. Berry Island Reserve is one of North Sydneys most delightful and significant areas of harbourside bushland. This small, almost circular, peninsula in Wollstonecraft is linked to the mainland by a wide grassed causeway. There are superb views of the harbour and the city from this picturesque reserve.

T-Pose Koopa Beautiful lovely walk. Nice place to go wildlife spotting and great cool trees

sydney semler Picturesque walk through Badangi reserve. Contrast burn site with unburnt zone on the left

Hong Nguyen It has a lovely little beach which joins to Berry Island during low tide. It doesnt take long to explore this reserve, but it has beautiful red gums, water views, and lots of steps if you take the track to Bridge End. Theres another track to Oyster Cove Reserve and you can continue on to The Coal Loader and Balls Head Reserve. However, the track to Shirley Rd is quite boring and too sunny. I frequently see water dragons on the Bridge End track near the little bridge which has the wider stream. Its great for taking photos of the lizards.

jing liu Nice little park with lots of open space. However there are a lot of constructions next to it and the road leading to the park is not easy for walking.
3 /5
Dave McNeil Has potential. BBQs worked but were both filthy. A great deal of shady trees and some tables. Very little shelter from rain. No toilet. At the time of my visit, there were two large active construction sites neighbouring and some council streetwork which did not improve my experience of park. A lot of foottraffic (mostly dog walkers). Overall kinda a dingey vibe.

Daichi Tanaka Newlands Park is a great spot for some fresh air and downtime, owing to its spacious layout. The park is big enough to offer a sense of openness and escape, making it perfect for picnics, casual strolls, or simply basking in natures glory. A noteworthy downside, however, is the lack of sufficient parking facilities which might be inconvenient at times. The playground equipment, while not top-tier, is passable, offering a range of fun activities for kids. It serves its purpose and does add to the parks family-friendly appeal. Lastly, the parks proximity to my apartment is a plus, making it my go-to spot for a quick getaway within the city. While some improvements can be made, Newlands Park is a refreshing space for both individuals and families to enjoy.
