What Clients Are Saying Berry Island Reserve (GG)
5 /5 Dragon Heart Sherpa: From St Leonard’s to Berry Island is a walkable distance & I visit every year just take in the serene beauty of this lovely place. The walk is good through wooded areas & the view breathtaking. I see a small heaven here.
5 /5 S W: Weve been here many times, its always quiet and comfy, perfect for a picnic or BBQ with friends. Its busier on public holidays but with room for many groups its not crowded. We went for a walk to the coal loader at Waverton with kids, its fun for the kids.
4 /5 Peter Bx: Great open area for picnics, large newly renovated children’s playground. Good views from the lookout and bustle walk. 15 mins from Waverton train station. Good anchorage for boats.
5 /5 Ernie Shepherd: This is a very nice and beautiful spot for a short walk DOG friendly, I guess must get busy on the weekends, but I went on a cloudy day so there was pretty much no one around. Beautiful views beautiful trees and beautiful big esplanade for the puppies to run .
5 /5 Firoz Alam: A great spot for a picnic. Beautiful views of a small part of the Sydney harbour area and the city skyline.
Berry Island Reserve is one of North Sydneys most delightful and significant areas of harbourside bushland. This small, almost circular, peninsula in Wollstonecraft is linked to the mainland by a wide grassed causeway. There are superb views of the harbour and the city from this picturesque reserve.
Australian Traveler Nawi Cove , is a small inlet , off the start of Darling Harbour
Even thou when I visited Nawi Cove , there was redevelopment along the foreshore & Wulugul Walk … the stroll past was worth while
Wulugul Walk … allows pedestrian access , via Nawi Cove … to/from the park areas of Barangaroo Reserve & the dining / entertainment area of King Street Wharf
Cordelia This park has it all. It’s a historic cemetery, playground and off leash dog park all in one.
You’ll learn all about local history as you walk through the graves. You’ll recognise the names on the headstones - Berry, Wollstonecraft and co. The crypts and monuments are impressive.
The playground is completely fenced. Lots of fun equipment to enjoy including a train.
It’s also a dog off leash park. There’s always a roll of free poo bags on offer and a water refill station. The off-leash area is not fully enclosed but it is huge, so your fur ball is unlikely to escape. It gets quite muddy after rain, so you may need to wash your pooch.
Lots of free parking in the surrounding streets.
Philippa Dunstan This park is great asset of Councils. The playground has recently been upgraded and features:
- Double Swing Seat with Accessible and Toddler Seat
- Large Play structure with Accessible Ramps, spiral slide, wide slide and interactive play panels
- Spiders Climbing Web
- Timber Truck
- Spinning Bucket
The Park is fenced and ample seating is provided. With walks and cafes nearby this is a great spot to meet or have a picnic with family and dogs.
Will Lee Gave 5 stars as it is the only shelter after the bottom of bridges towards tunks Park
There is a table but it is in the rain so I will have to sleep on the rocks, there is only one rock not too steep
What was Henry Lawson doing here? It is hardly a place for inspiration, personally I would rather walk to lane Cove national Park.
Budi Irawan Beautiful park with lot of toys to play. Since the park mostly covered by trees, it wont be too hot in the summer. Try to visit it in autumn to see the beautiful colors of the trees
