BeachLover 11 My friend T and I went here the first time today Thursday 07/11/2024. It was late afternoon and the weather was not very good so its quite quiet. I like this park as it has great views looking towards Sydney Habour Bridge and Sydney CBD. My friend didnt want to walk a lot so I couldnt go further towards Balls Head. But next time I would spend more time here. Its really nice.

Aravind Udayasankaran Right next to Waverton park and also on the way to or from Coal Loader, one of those sites that is sorta hidden away but also is accessible. Great view of the harbor and city, used to have the old oil and petrol storage tanks in here and now its gone you can see these huge circular areas exposing sandstone cliffs. Has walking paths, some stairs, some lookouts and dogs allowed as well.

DJ There are public toilets a stones throw away at Waverton Park and also at Balls Head Reserve. This is where the old BP site used to be and a great spot to go for a walk. It has a stunning view of the city and is a perfect place to watch the fireworks to welcome in the new year.

If you want to appreciate the beauty of Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge without having too much distractions, this is the place to go. Quiet neighborhood and nice view. Compared to the other areas to view the opera house which are packed with tourists, this place is perfect for people who dont like crowds like me. Highly recommended especially at night. Worth the

Leah Daws Dengate What a hidden gem. Great spot for a bath walk, picnic and incredible views of Sydney city and the harbour. There are a few car parks not shown so do the drive around the loop as there is one close to a bbq area and toilets, right near the views. This is a dog friendly walk so long as on leash.

Mike Li I really enjoy bush walking with my dog through track from the Coal Loader to Balls Head Reserve. There are plenty of car park space around or short walking distance from Waverton train station. You can see stunning sunset view Sydney harbour bridge, Sydney Opera House and city skyline.highly recommended.

Map Roy I think Balls Head Reserve is a really great bush walking track. Along the route, there are some flat roads, but the majority is actual bushland. Natural paths have been carved around the headland, though, due to the constant walking of many visitors over time. There are some stairs and narrow parts in the walk, but I found it to be a relatively mild trek. The track is well marked and easy to follow. Although a relatively popular spot for bush walking, during the times I have been here, it has never been crowded. To me, the walk is really peaceful and tranquil. There are many places along the walk that have amazing views of Sydney Harbour. The area is very well maintained. There is free street parking at the start of the route. There are also barbecue and picnic facilities. Dogs on leashes are welcome here.

Kate Ford Nice ideas here for city gardens. So good the way this place has been preserved & the history honoured. Small display of old relics, photos, models and information too. Such a pretty spot on the harbour too with nice walks. So glad I came across this place!

Chai A terrific stop on our day trip around the harbour area. We actually stumbled here on accident after walking through Waverton and what a beautiful place it was! There was an art exhibition being held near the entrance of the facility, however we arrived last minute so I did not take many photos. The facility itself is fantastic. Community gardens, art displays, historical monuments, small function rooms, public bathrooms, room to run around - what doesnt it have?? There really is a lot of art installations to check out all throughout the facility, so make sure to have a good walk around on all 3 main levels. There is also a level to visit the chickens! Bathrooms are pretty alright too. Overall, a wonderful community space to visit during a date, a hangout spot for friends or just for a nice escape!

The park has multiple levels and a number of walking tracks. There are community garden beds growing a range of fruit, vegetables, and herbs. The area is popular for picnics and has a made from scratch cafe. There is a big grass area with wonderful views and ample shade. The park has a community hall and some historic elements to it. I found the park to be a really peaceful and relaxing place to explore and would recommend visiting!
