1 /5 andreas blum: I’m very disappointed with this gym. The staff seem untrained and don’t appear to know what they’re doing. It felt like their main focus was just to push me into signing a long-term contract (18 months or 2 years) so the gym could secure the money, rather than actually providing good service or support.
On top of this, the facilities were not well maintained, and the weights were not put back in their proper places, leaving the gym messy and disorganised.
Because of the poor service, hygiene standards, and lack of organisation, I cannot recommend this gym to anyone.
I recently tried to resolve an issue with the staff at Anytime Fitness Kogarah and spoke directly with the manager. I understand that I signed the contract, and I take responsibility for not reading it properly — that was my mistake. However, the real problem is that the staff were not honest or transparent about what I was signing. I was led to believe something different than what was actually in the contract, which resulted in me being locked into an 18-month agreement.
My intention is to warn others: if you are considering joining this gym, make sure you carefully read the entire contract before signing anything. Do not rely solely on what the staff tell you. From my experience, their communication was misleading, and that is not acceptable.
I am very disappointed with how this was handled. I know not every Anytime Fitness location is like this, but at the Kogarah gym, the level of professionalism and honesty from the staff was poor.
