1 /5 Jamie Castro: Very regretful spend and also emotionally upsetting experience.
I am deeply disappointed with the hair straightening treatment I received at this salon. I had high expectations based on my consistent and positive experiences with similar treatments from other Korean salons.
Historically, my hair has always been manageable and low maintenance after such treatments. Unfortunately, this was not the case here. Dont get me wrong, I loved it on day 1 but... after washing and following their instructions, my hair has become extremely dry and unmanageable (as seen in photos), especially in the mornings. If you can see the photos, this obviously shouldnt be the outcome following a hair-straightening service, right? Despite the treatment intended to fix these issues, I now find myself needing to wake up extra early to deal with my hair, significantly disrupting my daily routine.
They are arguing that my hair was colored, very curly, and what-not prior to the procedure. However, as a customer, I trusted "experts" to handle my hair. Not a single soul told me that after the treatments, my hair will be extremely dry, tangled, and unmanageable. No one told me that in every waking day of my life, I have to use different costly products to maintain it. Had there been any disclaimers or advise from the staff, I wouldve hesitated and reconsidered my decision.
I was asked to come back so that they could check and fix my hair. My bad was that I was too conscious of riding the train and walking in public with such hideous hair that on the morning of the next visit, I put so much hair treatment. With that coupled with probably the cold weather that day, the dryness and tangles TEMPORARILY disappeared (coz it was back the very next day). Given that, they didnt do much except for like a hot oil and a free bottle of home treatment (which makes my hair feel rubberized after).
I emailed them about it again and they said they couldnt refund my money anymore. Instead, they offered to give me free treatments or a haircut (to cut the dry part-- basically, half of my hair). You see, I dont live nearby and I dont have all the free time in the world to travel to Eastwood multiple times. I wish they wouldve done the "treatment" to fix my hair the first time I went back, but no. They all insisted that my hair seemed okay.
Aside from wasting $450, I am left with ugly hair in my graduation photos and tedious daily maintenance. So disappointing. Just see the photos and think if youd risk it.
