Taronga Zoo Sydney

Yubo Zhuo Very iconic zoo in Sydney, very close to most suburbs. Great ticket value. Fun to go there. Very famous koalas live there. There are a lot of good photo locations and animal photos, spent 4 hours there and didn’t even get to see all the animals. Great zoo, recommend for tourists and anyone who wants to go.

Bradleys Head Amphitheatre

K A P Inside the Sydney NP, just needed to pay for a parking fee which is $8 valid all day. Few parking spaces near the amphitheater but more inside the NP. Perfect for sunset viewing, NYE fireworks, wedding etc. Can swim and with good toilets. I believe no showers though. Watchout for the magpie/birds as they are very aggressive when they swoop for foods.

Broughton Street Lookout

Adam F Great place view and take photos of the Sydney Opera House, CBD, Harbour Bridge and Harbour day or night. I prefer night time. Bring your visiting friends here to view the beautiful city. Watch the ferries go by, and take some beautiful photos. There are a few park benches to sit on. Plenty of street parking with parkin meters. Gets very busy on the weekends.

Dudley Page Reserve

Pat Chung The view of Sydney CBD from the Dudley Page Reserve is awesome, just its a bit far from the CBD so if you come here with a telescope, your experience would be even better. My mobile phone could zoom far distances so my pictures were still good for me. This site is good for picnic, enjoy a relaxing afternoon, watching Sydneys NYE fireworks or seeing sunset with Sydney Harbour, Sydney CBD, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge as backdrop. Street parking is easily available and free. However, this site is located at a high land (80 m above sea level) at the eastern suburb and is close to the cliff edge, so it is usually very windy and must be cold during winter or cool weather. So please remember bringing a jacket with you. There is no shelter nor toilet available, so please bring your hat or umbrella and search for nearby toilets if you plan for visiting long hours (I used searching it by using The National Public Toilet Map created by Australian Government).

The Calyx

B P We visited The Calyx in mid February 2025. Entry was by donation, which you can do with the tap of a card or your phone. It is a lovely spot, pretty, neat and well set up. There a number of interesting videos running on a cycle that you can sit and watch. It is also worth combining your visit with a walk through the Botanic Gardens. Check the opening hours before you go, as it closes at 2:00pm on a couple of days each week. Well worth a visit.

Georges Head Lookout

Gary L Great 180 degs views of the harbour, north and south Head, eastern suburb beaches and the city. Some great information boards showing a map of the harbour the different inlets and beaches etc. Nice place to sit and have a picnic, some shaded spots. Relatively recently refurbished. No amenities or parking, best to get to by foot from Chowder Bay
