TRVL_888 A beautiful old park.
The Commonwealth Reserve in Melbourne is located in Williamstown, a historic suburb southwest of the city. It is a beautiful park that overlooks Hobsons Bay and the city skyline, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The reserve features well-maintained lawns, large trees, picnic tables, and seating areas. It’s known for its historical significance, with a number of war memorials, including the Williamstown Cenotaph.
Nearby, you can explore the Williamstown waterfront with cafes, restaurants, and the Gem Pier, where you can catch views of the bay and moored boats. The area is great for leisurely strolls, picnics, and enjoying the serene coastal atmosphere.

Debi Slinger An amazing old park with a lot of history. Right on the bay of Williamstown amongst the boats and ships and yachts, it’s a must visit when in “Willy”. Spacious, green and lots of shades from the large trees. Thankfully someone had the foresight to think ahead because they are truly unique. Don’t forget to check out all
The historical sites within the park and read about the history and settlement of the area.
I wonder how it looked before it was settled?
I’ve seen many weddings, parties and celebrations held in the park. There are bins and seats but suggest you take home your rubbish and byo chair.
When wet, it can get a bit soggy underfoot but don’t let that deter you.
Toilets available. Playground available take. Parking can be tricky so suggest you read the signs carefully. Dog friendly.

Matthew Gray Really pleasant reserve on a good day. Boats in the background, trees grass and walking space to stroll and some great food options around it.
Beautiful view of Melbourne from over the bay on a clean clear day.

sventek Beautiful gardens for a walk, picnic or just plain photography. Lots of greenery, with water views and a permanent ship museum for your backdrop. Theres an abundance of restaurants on the road stretch to sit and enjoy these views. Very relaxed, gone for a holiday kind of feel here. The heritage buildings on the roadsides also make for an interesting exploration. Most parking meters now can be paid using the EASYPARK app - pay only for how much you use, much better than prepaid!
