Wai Yin Lai The Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens are one of my favourite places. The boathouse is picturesque, the lake peaceful. The gardens are lovely all year round, different flowers our in different seasons. Highly recommend. If theres a downside, it would be signage. Ad there is a 5pm closing time, better signs and distances to exit would be helpful. Maybe even a map at main points like the rhododendron gardens further up the hill.

Em A scenic visit, but a very small lake - more like a pond. The bridges and trees in this area are lovely, almost reminiscent of Japan, especially with the ginko. I definitely recommend doing the walk to this little boathouse.

Jack M One of our favourite gardens. We are sad the spinning rock is gone but the gardens are beautiful in autumn

Simon Wang We accidentally came to this garden. This secret garden is full of stories, full of treasures, full of love, full of surprises. We couldn’t walk all the paths in the garden as we came late, but this will be our place to be in the future for many years. Thanks to all the volunteers we keep this garden alive, thanks to the family who donated this garden to the people of Victoria.

Betty Damianidis Lovely place to go for a stroll. It might be difficult for people with mobility issues as the grounds are very hilly. Easy parking at the front when not busy.

AJ Dee I really loved this garden. Caught some beautiful Autumn colours a few days ago. Just gorgeous. I had visited Dandenong Botanical Gardens and Alfred Nicholas gardens on the same day and I rate George Tindale the best for Autumn colours. Its a smaller garden but its so much prettier and there were no crowds.

CHO JUNGYEON It was a nice place to go for walking. Little steep to go uphill. I brought a 4-year-old girl. She was fine with that. However, Creek wasnt as big as we expected.

Hannah Fethers A beautiful spot, nice short walk to a small waterfall and a lovely view down the valley. The amenities are well looked after with a lovely picnic area that has a few tables to sit at or a grassy clear space for picnic blankets. The waterfall is better after some rain but if you are choosing to head there after rain you need to be careful and prepared as the track can get quite muddy and slippery. I have don this walk both by myself and with a 3 and 5 year old so it is manageable and a lovely trip.

Hélio Leonardo Those expecting a waterfall will leave disappointed, just so you know. The area is still very much recovering from a huge storm last year and it is not currently at its prime. Some paths are closed too. We still had a great time, even spotted a lyrebird!

Jo Nice walk. The waterfall is tiny. Excellent if you are looking for a good exercise during the weekend. Some tracks are steep. But plenty of options to pick. You can map your own trail.

Koonthos Koonthus This scene exudes a tranquil and almost fairytale-like beauty. The focal point is a rustic wooden boathouse, perched on stilts above a still, reflective pond. Its simple structure, with two small windows, blends harmoniously with the natural surroundings. The reflection of the boathouse in the water creates a mirror image, enhancing the sense of serenity and symmetry. The pond itself is covered in a layer of fallen leaves and lily pads, adding texture and depth to its surface. The dark, calm water reflects not only the boathouse but also the lush greenery that envelops it. The surrounding environment is a vibrant tapestry of trees and foliage. Towering eucalyptus trees reach towards the sky, their slender trunks contrasting with the broad leaves of other trees, some displaying hints of autumn colors in shades of red and yellow. Ferns of various sizes add a touch of prehistoric charm, their delicate fronds creating intricate patterns. The light filtering through the canopy is soft and diffused, casting gentle shadows and highlighting the various shades of green. The air seems still and peaceful, inviting contemplation and a connection with nature. The overall impression is one of a secluded and enchanting sanctuary, a place where time slows down and the beauty of the natural world takes center stage. Its a scene that evokes a sense of calm, wonder, and a deep appreciation for the quiet beauty of a hidden gem.

Em Dont come here expecting a magnificent fountain, but definitely visit to see the history behind the pools. I especially love thinking about why one of the crane statues went missing! The new statues are pretty and the gentle trickle of the water into the pool is lovely to listen to after the long, uphill walk that is the rest of the gardens.

Aiden Nice little place to see a little lake

Hayden Adjacent to Burnham Beeches Estate. Short walk from the car park but not really a lot to see. No fish and fountain as powerful as an old man urinating Can skip this for the fountain but it’s a good walk round to view the art deco estate.
