1 /5 G C: I would never step foot in the Parkmore store ever again. I took a watch back because the band fell apart and thankfully it didnt drop on the ground. I was abruptly told, take it back to Mr Minit. I tried to explain that Bevilles need to take responsibility for the sale of watches and ensuring the bands are fitted correctly. It was purchased from the Frankston store and no one there could adjust the band. They said we have an arrangement with Mr Minit. I wasnt really happy with this as it could void the warranty. The store is now permanently closed.
I went to ask for an exchange and the manager was so rude she told me, no I won’t be exchanging it. Then said” if you don’t stop arguing your point I’ll call security”. Quite pathetic. The manager was so disrespectful, that I’m surprised she’s allowed to treat customers the way she did. Sales people don’t have any vested interest in this company, so why do they have to be so insulting to customers that try and offer a solution, like an exchange for another watch with say a leather band. A complaint has now been lodged with Head Office and I will also be taking this matter up with the Regional Manager.
Technically Bevilles shouldn’t be sending customers to Mr Minit to adjust bands. They conveniently void the warranty on the band. And should the band full apart and the watch drops on the ground and is damage, they wipe their hands of any responsibility. From now on I’ll only buy watches that can be adjusted in store. These staff members have no formal training and shouldn’t be selling watches they can’t adjust. I’ll be also taking this up with Seiko.
Update on response from HO. The most unacceptable response that didnt even address my concerns. This organisation is an absolute disgrace and Ill never shop at the stores or online again. Ive spent so much money over the years and as far as im concerned your stores are going down the drain.
Ill only shop at Hoskings now as they have a 14 days change of mind policy in-store as well.
Update from Seiko. They were very surprised to hear that sales staff are sending customers to a 3rd party to adjust bands. Also metal bands are covered under warranty, but not leather. Seiko suggested that you dont have bands adjusted outside of stores, otherwise it may void the warranty should the watch drop to the ground. The watch now needs to go off to Seiko for a repair. If Bevilles arent prepared to train their staff then dont expect customers to shop in your stores.
Also I heard managers dont even stay in position long, which frankly, does not surprise me one bit based upon my recent experience.
