1 /5 R D C: I’ve been a loyal Michael Hill customer for nearly 10 years, faithfully bringing in 3 of my wedding rings for their 6-monthly inspections to uphold the lifetime warranty. Life got busy, and this time, I was just one month late. I’ve been slightly late before without issue—but this time, the consultant, Fin, decided to immediately and permanently void the lifetime warranty on all three of my rings.
No warning. No grace. No consideration for my long history with the brand.
I was stunned. After nearly a decade of trust and investment, to be treated so rigidly over this slightly late missed deadline—especially when I’ve consistently come in for years—felt not only unfair but incredibly disrespectful. Surely, a company that claims to value its customers could recognize the difference between neglect and a minor delay due to life circumstances.
I left the store feeling disappointed, frustrated, and like my loyalty meant nothing. If this is how Michael Hill and their consultants choose to treat long-standing customers, I won’t be recommending them to anyone ever.
