Prouds the Jewellers Highpoint - Maribyrnong (VIC)

1 /5 Asraar: Shouted at, mocked, refused service, and told to ‘just buy a clasp elsewhere’ utterly humiliating experience. ⁉️ On 22nd August 2025, around 11 AM, I visited the Prouds Highpoint store with receipts, invoices, and photos regarding a necklace I had purchased. The clasp had broken again; the same fault previously repaired by Prouds. I followed their official policies and even offered to pay for repairs. Instead, I was shouted at, mocked, refused service, and publicly humiliated. The staff member (approx. 70+, short dark hair) refused to provide her name, dismissed my necklace as “just a hollow $400 chain,” and told me to “go outside and look at the store number” when I asked for the manager’s contact details. She also refused to send the necklace to Prouds’ worksmiths as I had requested, instead telling me to “just buy another clasp elsewhere” and even proceeded to show me the clasp, despite my clear wish for the product to be properly repaired through head office. While other employees and patrons watched in shock, I very politely and asked the staff member to speak with me in a civil manner (a failed attempt). I left visibly shaken to avoid further chaos. This is not an isolated incident. The Highpoint store has a 3.0 Google rating (91 reviews), many describing the same rudeness, shouting, and dismissiveness I endured. Clearly, this is a recurring problem that Prouds corporate must urgently address. I have receipts, repair dockets, and photos of the faulty necklace and strongly encourage management to review CCTV footage from the date/time of this incident. I have also emailed Prouds customer service and contacted Scott Young, Regional Manager Victoria (JPL Group). No human being deserves to be treated this way.

1 /5 Sophie Yeh: Went there walk in ten mins, the staff make me and my husband like nobody or the air. Walk in front of us but just don’t want to service us. Very worse experience there. Would not recommend going to the store.

1 /5 Keira Parsons: Very disappointed in the customer service today, 8/3/25, I had this older woman (Asian, with bob hair) serve me. I was kindly asking her to take some earrings out for me, but i was shocked to find her attitude was very rude, and disrespectful from a customers point of view. I was looking for a present for my young god daughter, in which she could not see the higher earring on the shelve, I asked her “ could you take this pair out please” she responded “ WHY DONT YOU LET HER CHOOSE”, even the way she got fustrated because I asked to look at a few pairs of earrings, the rolling of eyes, actions that looked like she didn’t want to serve us. Was a regular customer always coming to the store, this just unacceptable, and will not be coming back. If you want unpleasant severice ur more than whelcome to go to the highpoint proud store. The older lady (Asian, with bob hair cut, shot height) did not even provide us with her name, as she didn’t want us to talk to her manager.

1 /5 Thao P: Extremely rude asian woman who served me today at Prouds. So rude obviously hates her job I asked another staff member for a managers name to make a complaint but she said there is no one that’s the manager. Now looking on the page can understand that it is a common occurrence at this store. She should not be working in Retail if she hates her job .avoid her .

1 /5 Nicole V: Would like to give no stars! Service today 26/04/2025 was very poor. Waited for more than 25 minutes for a staff member to deal with us. I do understand that only 3 staff were working and the store was busy, but there was no acknowledgment of us or a "Ill be with you soon". The staff didnt seem to be dealing with customers very efficiently. As there was no ticketing system someone who came into the store after us was served before us. There seems to be a lot of negative reviews here so I assume this store and the manager do not consider customer service to be very important. Luckily its not a store I will need to shop in again.
