1 /5 Sarah Garoff: I normally dont share bad experiences but this one really got to me. I went into the store today with my 5 year old son. As kids do, my son hid inside some of the clothes that were hanging. The lady walked passed my son and asked him to come out of there. Absolutely understandable, as someone who worked in retail for 10 plus years, I get kids can be a bit of tricky when they are bored. I smiled at the store clerk and said sorry, she completely ignored me. Perhaps she didnt hear me so I let it slide. Once I told my son not to do it he stopped. I took some clothes into the change rooms. I needed a a different size but both staff members were just ignoring me and talking to each other so I went and got the size up myself. As I walked out of the change rooms, I caught the eye of the lady who spoke to my son. She completely ignored me, she didnt ask how the clothes were, if they were okay and if I wanted to buy them. She looked at me and I could tell from her expression that she knew I had tried on clothes but opted to completely ignore me anyway. The staff just kept talking to each other about how their lunch break was and how one of them needed to do the banking. 0 customer service. As a Mum who most of the time has to take my kids with me to shops, this was a really disheartened and disappointing experience. The store clerk was clearly annoyed about my son and clearly annoyed at me and chose not to serve me for whatever reason. I also plan on writing an email to the head office. Ive never experienced anything like this in any shop, most people are nice and kind and understanding about kids and besides going into the racks to play, once told not to do it, he was completely well behaved. Hopefully the staff there can just be reminded to still do their best to do their job and give basic customer service, inspite of how irritated they may have been about a situation that bothered them.
