1 /5 Kaivalya Pulekar: My membership was for 18 months which started on the 11th of April 2024. The 18 months have already surpassed and the money is still getting deducted from my bank account. Also, not a single email or communication received from their side that money will be deducted from my bank account. Its already December 2025 and I am still paying for a service which should have ended on 11th of Oct 2025. I have no clue how to stop this service even though the 18 months tenure has surpassed. Very money-minded service and gyms itself are cramped and probably they dont have a count of memberships being sold or they just need money as there is 0 space in gym on peak days and hours. ALSO NO COMMUNICATION HAS BEEN DONE FROM THEIR SIDE FOR 30 DAYS CANCELLATION NOTICE AS STATED IN TERMS AND CONDITIONS I am writing a review over here as I am reading the other reviews, they are more prompt in giving solutions to problems over here rather than using their own contact page.

1 /5 Sacha Howard: The gym itself at Zap Fitness Carlton is still good — the equipment and facilities are fine — but the company’s management and customer service have been appalling. I cancelled my membership on 1 September 2025, yet Zap Fitness continued to try to charge me and has kept contacting me by phone and email, even after multiple written requests for them to stop. I’ve had to contact my bank to block the direct debit and get a refund, and I’ve now issued a final notice to Zap Fitness demanding they cease all contact. It’s really disappointing, because the local gym staff aren’t the problem — it’s the head office and billing system that make this company impossible to deal with. Be very careful before signing up; cancelling a membership should not be this difficult.

1 /5 hüsniye Çimen: I’ve been trying to contact them for days regarding a payment issue. I signed up at the advertised price, but even after paying more, my digital entry card has not been activated. I was told I would pay around $100 for 4 weeks, but I’ve already paid $138, and my digital entry card is still not active. For a gym that claims to offer 24/7 service, their communication is non-existent. I haven’t received any response for a week. Everything seems great only until you sign up. Registering at this gym in Melbourne has been my biggest regret.

1 /5 Ayusha Gowda: Member since last year and it’s so unhygienic, so dirty, stinky all the time, be it 2pm or 7am. And they aren’t agreeing on cancelling my membership cause of the contract. But there has to be some exceptions right? Disgusting. $195 as cancellation fees? Ridiculous.

3 /5 KZ: I joined Zap in Adelaide in December 2022, moved to Zap Carlton in January 2023, and had my last day with Zap in September 2025. Somehow, after all this time, I don’t have a single photo of the gym — so I’m just going to attach a screenshot of my first ever successful pull-up instead. Overall, I enjoyed my time here. The equipment is decent, the place is clean, and it served me well for years. But after moving to another gym (Training Day Burwood), I realised just how tiny Zap Carlton actually is. Honestly, if they could just expand into the Australian Tours Management space next door (which I’ve never seen anyone enter in three years), it would completely transform the gym. Zap is a huge company — extra space and equipment wouldn’t be hard for them. Daniel, the personal trainer I worked with at Zap Newton (Adelaide), was outstanding — extremely professional, and his physique alone was convincing enough. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the same calibre of trainers at Zap Carlton. Now, the reason I’m not giving 5 stars: the membership cancellation. I paid the most expensive tier ($16/week) for 1.5 years, then switched to the $10/week option in June 2024. When I tried to cancel in August 2025, I was told I still had 1.5 years minimum term because I changed plans. No flexibility, no consideration of my loyalty, nothing. I even referred two friends to this gym — and this is the treatment you get on the way out. It’s all fun and games when you’re signing up, but this is what you get when you part ways. Despite that, I had many great memories here, and I genuinely hope others enjoy their workouts at this place.
