Joshua Lee Great little beach. Shallow rock pool and you could do snorkeling nearby as well. The cliffs by the beach create some shade as well and it’s great for kids. Great spot for families! I won’t say it’s a pool suitable for proper swimming. As for the park nearby, it has ample space and has a few bbq spots too. What a great spot.

Pat OMalley It is originally my home turf. So no surprises after 14 years just some much improved local services. Great beaches and a lovely location. Restrooms are suitable, playground areas more than adequate for family use and plenty of green space to picnic and it is dog friendly with dog owners following hygiene responsibility.

Imges Darook Park

(383) Reviews Darook Park:

Nathan Shardlow Beautiful little hidden beach a short walk from a locked gate at the end of Darook Park Road… Nice little grassy area overlooking the beach as you walk down with a seating bench and sign warning of massive fines for vandalising trees… Once you get to the bottom you are greeted by a large grassy area with plenty of trees for shade and a decent toilet public block… Bins are provided for your rubbish, and the water is crystal clear and very shallow… Even on the high tide you can walk about 100m out and still have your head above water, which makes it a very safe swimming for young families… Be careful exploring the ricks at the north end of the beach, as they are covered in moss and therefore very slippery in sections
5 /5
Erin Moore The place is beautiful with crystal-clear water, but the walk down is steep. It could get very busy in the summer. Not much parking available.
5 /5
Minh Le ☆ Gorgeous and fantasy spectacle ☆ The water is cool not too cold. You might get a bit of irritation if you dont get used to the water. There are toilets and public bathroom near the beach !!!Recommended for family and friends picnic. There r no shops or stores nearby, better prepare before. Best place to escape from the busy life and get rid of all the stressful and hatred, especially in summer. ♡ QUITE A LIVING & FANCY PARADISE ♡

Sillis Mariarosaria (Rosy) Great beach with something for everyone, including a large beach rock pool where you can sit in the shallows with young children or swim out to the far end to catch a wave splashing over the wall. Room on sand and rocks to set up, or if you prefer grass, the park is right behind the pavilion with views down to the water.
4 /5

5 /5
Kerrie Felton Gated playground area in a shadey spacious park with good toilet facilities and a view of the ocean. Lots of various climbing equipment for the kids. Swings for big and small. Accessible swing also. Sandpit with water play.
5 /5
ali wahidi It is my first time here and I can assure you guys that it is a great place for everyone one including children . The ocean view is spectacular . You can have nice and safe swim at the rock pool that filled with ocean water everytime a wave comes which make the water very clear and clean. The park have a walking path alongside the beach. There is a playground for kids, toilets, ovens ,and seats around the park. You can fish off the rocks but be VERY careful as it may be very dangerous and slippery when wet. I really recommend this place and I did enjoy my day here.

10.Salmon Haul Reserve and Playground

Address: 58 Glaisher Parade, Cronulla NSW 2230

Imges Salmon Haul Reserve and Playground

(582) Reviews Salmon Haul Reserve and Playground:

Edward Poljak Beautiful secluded cove on port hacking near Cronulla. A great private place for sunbaking and a swim as its always secluded from the wind. There is a playground for kids and clean amenities.
5 /5
Jackie McMillan (3.5 stars) Salmon Haul is the Gordons Bay of the south. You’d never know it was here, unless you looked it up on maps, as the entrance is a nondescript path leading down between the fancy houses of this quiet suburb. We were told to go around either side of high tide, to make entering from the rocky shoreline easier, and we’re glad we did. It doesn’t look like much from the shore, but beneath the surface there are plenty of different species of fish and even some super-cute and curious squid! It was a bit windy and choppy on the day we visited, which hampered the visibility, but we think that a calm day could be well worth returning for. It was hard to find out more about the origins of the name, beyond the fact that it had been referred to that way for over 100 years for the obvious reason. It was highly-utilised Gweagal site before European settlement. The rock shelters around there would have offered protection and privacy while providing sweeping views of the waterways and surrounding land.
3 /5
Priyank Pashine Beautiful sheltered cove, nice place to snorkel when the swell is low, can easily spot 15-20 different varieties of sea life on a good day.
5 /5
Byron P Can easily get busy but always a lovely spot, parking is just on the street above which can prove challenging, and staircase is a steep pinch out but well worth it for paradise realtively secluded for cronulla standards, is a part of awesome foreshore walk which means toilets nearby but great spot itself for a swim

4 /5
Martin Witchard Small park adjacent to the railway station. It has a north west to south east axis path that skirts the war memorial at its centre. Workers were busily tidying it up when I visited. I was impressed with the lines of roses and beds of marigolds.

4 /5
Nathan Shardlow Great park with an abundance of trees ti escape the summer sun, and a massive betted off swimming area surrounded by long boardwalk making it perfect for swimming and fishing… Plenty of parking on Nicholson Parade and a short walk through the shady parklands to the waters edge… The water area to the south of the boardwalk/jetty is nice and shallow, making it ideal and safe fun for young kids… There is a large undercover area ideal for family gatherings and/or parties right behind the Gunnamatta Pavilion… Not really enough bins throughout the park though considering its size
5 /5

Imges Shark Island

(32) Reviews Shark Island:

Mark Steward This place was the place me my brother teeth and Chris warr, wingnut and nugget plus Doug Robson and Dean Herril ,Tristan Barfield the only body boarder to beat Mike Stewart in the 80s who made Mike look ordinary at that contest at Cronulla point only true locals know this who he is and how great he was on his Mach 10 or his Mach7-7 made the Sport what it is today in Australia. Signing out from tooth a true local and remember respect the local crew that surf their or you could get yourself in some trouble U wont be able to deal with, so watch the break from the cliffs at the point. Cause I dont want to have to save you from some of the worlds most dangerous surf conditions you could break your neck out there like doug Robson did in the nineties . Till I see you in the water hang loose and rock on and stay out of my way.

Address: 1R Tonkin St, Cronulla NSW 2230

Imges Tonkin Oval

(61) Reviews Tonkin Oval:

Zalak Kansara I was here for a cricket game on a Saturday! The ground is way to beautiful, just kissing the water. Although, outfield was not that great but good enough for a game. Pitch was perfect. Easily accessible by public transport. Close to the Cronulla beach as well.
4 /5
Emmanuelle Hanille Ive seen a lot in this place like eel , puffer fish , jellyfish, ducks , pelican , and other . And you can do so much activities like organised sport or family recreation ! Its very cool place especially to watch the sunset
5 /5
HAINA WANG Beautiful view. Field is just next to the sea.
4 /5
Scott Robins Most scenic pitch in the shire. The centre circle is as hard as a rock which is good for cricket but not so for football. Is the only pitch that you are constantly running up hill in the middle. Everything then runs away from the square.
4 /5
Syed Umar Ahmed This cricket ground is a splendid venue for both players and spectators alike. The pitch is well-maintained, offering a true bounce that cricket enthusiasts appreciate. The expansive outfield is lush and inviting, perfect for a high-scoring game or a leisurely day of spectating under the open sky. With picturesque views, including a serene backdrop of boats gently bobbing at the nearby marina, its an idyllic setting for a day out. While parking can be challenging to find, this minor inconvenience is offset by the grounds easy accessibility and the overall quality of the facilities. Whether youre here to play or just enjoy the atmosphere, this cricket ground is definitely worth a visit.

18.Cronulla Boat Ramp

Address: Tonkin St, Cronulla NSW 2230

Imges Cronulla Boat Ramp

(50) Reviews Cronulla Boat Ramp:

Claire We sat and watched a number of boat owners launch and retrieve boats here at low tide. They were having to drop the trailers off the end of the ramp to get them far enough into the water. None of them had any trouble pulling them back up onto the ramp. They were however having to drag the boats over the mud to get to water deep enough to float.
2 /5
Jonathan Yang Great place to launch a kayak, ample space to set it up, plus theres public toilets
5 /5
jason turpin Good boat ramp, big turning area for boats, limited trailer parking
5 /5
Matt Taylor Very shallow ramp, not the best if the tide is low. If you need to use this ramp you have to use the Ferry Whaft next to the sailing club to jump in the boat assuming you are going out with 2 people. Be careful with depth when putting the boat back on the trailer. I wouldnt use this ramp again.
1 /5
J C Worst boat ramp n south Sydney, urgently needs fixing. (1) it doesnt have a steep enough gradient to be able to launch a boat on a skid trailer without being too far back down the ramp. (2) the sides (gutter looking sides) for safety of not driving straight over the side have all come been broken off. (3) many times I have seen people launch their boat to not be able to find a spot to park the trailer, either carpark is full of trailers or people park in the trailer onlt parking without a trailer. For a boat ramp that accesses a very beautiful and popular river in Sydney it is in extremely poor condition. Wallys wharf, further down the river, is much steeper and better for large boats. Cronulla is very shallow. Please repair or upgrade.
