My boyfriends birthday present to me this year was a Mimco wallet.
I love the Mimco brand and have always been impressed with their designs and quality of their products.
Last Sunday (14th April) we decided to visit the Miranda store to browse around the wallet section to see what current stock was available.
Upon entry, there were two female store clerks at the front desk/POS counter chatting together and one female shopper in the store at the time.
We were not acknowledged upon entry.
The female shopper received assistance from one of the store clerks whilst we were looking at the wallet section (with great intention of wanting to purchase something that day).
That female shopper then left the store without purchasing anything (fair enough), which left myself and my boyfriend as the only shoppers in the store at the time. Still no acknowledgement or assistance from the store clerks.
Two new female shoppers entered the store while my boyfriend and I were still browsing, and they received an engaging welcome from one of the store clerks. The other store clerk was still behind the counter.
By that time, we had been in store for at least 5 minutes and very noticeable to the store clerks with no acknowledgement whatsoever.
At that point, my boyfriend and I were wondering why we hadnt been spoken to yet or been greeted with just a hello?
We decided to leave the store immediately!
We felt quite descriminated against and our shopping experience obviously didnt mean anything to the store clerks.
I was really hoping to find my birthday present that day and wanted it to be from Mimco so we walked straight to Mimco in David Jones.
Upon entry, we could see that the one and only Mimco female store clerk (her name is Joy) was busy with a customer so were happy to browse and wait till she was available to assist us.
Immediately after she had made the sale with the previous customer, she greeted us with a smile and asked how she could be of assistance. My boyfriend and I felt better after receiving that pleasant greeting from Joy and during our browse, found my perfect birthday present! So we pointed out which wallet it was that I wanted and she advised that the stock was out the back and that she would have to leave us for a moment to go and collect the stock. Thorough and engaging treatment from a store clerk to shoppers/customers, I must say!
Bear in mind that from the original Mimco store to the David Jones store, my boyfriend has been the only male during the shopping experience (slightly intimadating for him) and Joy certainly made him feel welcome by using her open body language and eye contact towards the both of us.
Mimco Miranda lost a sale.
Mimco David Jones Miranda made a sale, one of which we believe Joy should receive credit for!
We sincerely hope this review can reach the right people so those two female store clerks can think twice before discrimating their potential future customers again!

Sherby Staff werent nice at all. Doesnt take much to act friendly and smile.
They need to stop thinking theyre better then anyone else.
The staff at Oroton were much nicer and thats a more elite brand.
Old money doesnt need to flaunt it!
