Suzana Hristovski Loved visiting Eleni to help me improve the appearance of my eyebrows. I have very light brown and thinly spaced eyebrows, and having to draw them in each day was becoming annoying. Eleni used henna to enhance the appearance and loved the result. For the next few weeks I could remove one makeup task to my daily routine. Eleni is a wonderful person and highly recommend visiting her salon.

The employees were so kind and had no problem letting me. I had asked the cafe Mimolette before hand & I was told no. So I was very grateful that the nail salon did not refuse. Your kindness doesn’t go unnoticed.

I felt so comfortable the first time I came to the clinic with Makayla welcoming me at the front door, I instantly felt at ease (I suffer bad anxiety and struggle going somewhere new for the first time) I love their approach to skin care, the products they use , especially the education and knowledge surrounding around it all, they look at the body as a whole inside and out with the support of other like minded businesses. Marian Stavridis House Of Maxx has been crucial to both my internal and external health. Jenny has helped me with my nutrition and helping by body from the inside out. Makayla has helped me with not only needed lifestyle changes but does the most amazing facials and the products given have changed my skin in a big way. I don’t trust anyone with my brows easily because of past experiences but Makayla does my brows to perfection. I highly recommend seeing these skin angels.

Annie M I saw Maxine at House of Maxx for a Brow Sculpt & Tint, & I can’t rave about it enough! My eyebrows look incredible!! Maxine is so lovely! She is friendly, professional, makes you feel comfortable, and was absolutely lovely to chat to. House of Maxx has a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Quiet & Cosy, and so Welcoming. The bed was so cushy I could have stayed all day. A super wonderful experience I’ll definitely be doing again.

Tia Thorne I should have reviewed the team at house of Maxx long ago because in the 4 years since I first visited them, it’s still to this day the best facial experience I’ve had! The team really ensure you’re super relaxed and comfortable throughout your stay. Small touches like a comfy heated bed and fluffy doona really add to the experience. Not to mention, they also ensure to use products on your neck and chest - super important skin. The products they use are so good. Can’t recommend enough. Just wish they had a clinic closer to me up north bow!

Shanee Sommer I couldn’t recommend the ladies at House of Maxx highly enough! Both Makayla and Maxine are phenomenal. They are professional, extremely well educated and unbelievably lovely! I truly feel looked after when I visit the clinic as it has a pampering atmosphere, progressive high tech and natural, safe ingredients. I also couldn’t be more thankful for the girls for being so approachable and happy to answer all my questions both during my visits, but also at all other times, even outside of work hours!

Jones Enfys “TJ” I was recommended Respekt by someone who worked with community as a safe place to get a haircut as a genderqueer person. Today I had the appointment and was immediately comfortable when entering. Everyone was really lovely and affirming. I found them really great at communicating what was happening next and checking in with me. As someone with curly hair, it can be hard to find someone who understands how to work with it but I would definitely trust them with my hair again. They were very prompt and lovely to talk to ahead of time through text after I asked a question on their website form. I would encourage anyone with questions to use that, you will not go ignored. Sensory-wise, the salon is brightly lit but upon request, you can have your cut in a smaller section with the lights dimmed or off. Because you often need to remove glasses for a cut, Id recommend anyone light sensitive request dimmed lights. They had music playing quietly while I was there and they let me know that can be turned off as well. They are quite willing to accommodate in any way they can so if theres anything you need, ask and Im confident they will try their best to meet your needs. They do have a gorgeous little salon dog which is important to know. They werent particularly loud and left me to my cut after saying hello but if dogs are a lot for you, be sure to let them know ahead of your appointment. Apart from blow-drying, I personally didnt find it loud but loops, earplugs, or noise cancelling earbuds would help for anyone particularly sensitive to sound. Im unsure if they are experienced cutting around headphones so definitely ask if youd prefer that. They were great at communicating and asking about scalp sensitivity. I personally didnt find the haircut itself or the wash any more overstimulating than the unavoidable. I quite enjoyed the wash personally. No part of my clothes or body got wet (just my hair and head) so I wasnt left with bad textures for the cut. I made the choice not to inform them I was autistic because I didnt have any related accommodations I wanted to ask for. So I am quite impressed with the level of care without having to request it. They were also really accommodating to the way I had to pay for the appointment. All around a great experience. I will be returning next I can afford a professional cut and will be recommending them to others in my life!

Amber Jones I’ve visited Salon Mace a couple of times now, and I always leave feeling so happy with my hair! Maisey has done my blonde hair twice, and she truly knows what she’s doing, exceeding my expectations each time. The entire staff are so welcoming and friendly, they make you feel so comfortable. I can’t recommend Salon Mace enough, the team is amazing!

Nik There are no words to describe how thankful I am to have come across the salon and how much I appreciate them for what they’ve done, particularly Elisabeth, I came in with nightmare hair (like seriously horrible hair) and I wasn’t expecting to walk out basically shaking with happiness. Not only did Eli walk me through everything she was doing, she gave incredible advice and did a miracle job on my hair, I cannot thank her and the team there enough. Karen Benattar I had a bad experience here. Which was only worsened by the poor customer management of the owner. Firstly the chairs are hard plastic and cold. When you are sitting a few hours with die, a soft padded or a professional hairdresser chair should be expected. Especially considering the upper end prices that are charged. They know they have a problem with the water temperature at their basins. It fluctuates dramatically when an upstairs tap is used as a consequence i had the delicate skin at the nape of my neck burnt. I got quite a shock and it stung for about 10 minutes. Luckily they have the hot water valve set at regulations and you cant really be burnt permanently. Then they are so busy that the girl applying my die kept being asked questions and leaving me mid application. As a result she completely forgot to apply die to the entire left side of my head. Im 60 years old and I have been dying my hair at salons for 30 years all over the world even in non English speaking countries this has never happened to me. When I pointed it out to her she was so absent minded that she denied it and treated me as if I was silly. I actually had to ask her to check and sure enough she got a shock. No die at all on the whole left side. This salon treated me very badly and the owner had the audacity to send me an email saying theyd cancelled my future booking. When what should of happened is she should of offered me a refund and of been trying to ensure Id return. It has very young clients and I probably dont fit in as they seem to be the influencer crowd. It is a shame that we arent all treated with equal respect and care. I really was upset after leaving and they said they didnt like my attitude when I never raised my voice and was only civil and reasonable. I am now at a salon that charges 45% less and does a great job. They have padded chairs and the latest dryers. The 2 cousins that run it are so sweet and listen to me and do not dismiss any concerns I have. After all Im the paying client. I cant recommend this salon and I almost neve write such reviews but I do think my experience needs to be told.

My first time coming in, I had previously had a bad experience at another salon and didn’t feel confident about my hair, but Felicity and her team have since helped me get my hair to a place where I feel so much better about my hair and have helped me with my hair journey! Alex Design After a few years of hair disasters at another salon my cousin recommended Y Salon. Margie, Ray and Aaliyah listened to my concerns and I immediately felt understood. They knew what I wanted even when I wasn’t particularly good at articulating it. Within 2 hours I had a new cut and colour and I’m so happy with the results.

Cassy Taylor WORST EXPERIENCE and disgusting customer service. After appointment was cancelled 30 minutes before, I then called to express my concern and see if I would be able to be fit in with another staff member. Was told that the owner of the salon could do my hair which was absolutely no problem until I asked for an inch off and received a bob. After saying that I wanted the front bits to fit in, when putting my hair up, you best believe they do not fit. Hair is uneven and by far the worst cut I have ever received. I called the next day to express my concern and was told that it is an amazing job and got hung up on. Do NOT ever go here.

julieta ursini Horrible service . WASTE OF MONEY She burned my finger taking off the polish with the machine . The quality of the powder (SNS) is soooo bad that the color is not even . And also it is not similar to the color that I choose . Y was so unhappy that I had to fight for a discount which They should had offered to me because I said to them since the beginning the color was nos staying even . She wanted to charge me $50 for a really poor service and bad actitud . Finally I insisted to pay $40, which I think is even expensive for what it is . They basically said that was my fault for choosing that color . She didn’t put cream in my hands. I am so disappointed . I hope you don’t go there.

Dale Watson I go there often,but I am not always 100% satisfied..I get a pedicure and manicure,but they try to get your feet done at the same time as your hands.Theyre standing up, while doing the mani, and my nail was crooked.The woman doing my pedi at the same time,made my toe bleed...The best way to get a good result is to only allow one person doing the job.last time I had 3 ppl working on my nails....I want 1 person who is concentrating.... also I usually get a French mani,1 day I wanted blue tips,but told they dont do it....1 day I wanted 1 nail blue,apart from my french tips,but it was going to cost me $20, more.. Not cheap....
