I have always appreciated his patience as l have a nervous disposition when it comes to dental work. I have recently had some restoration work on my front teeth, and am very grateful to have a great result with no loss of integrity to the tooth. Kew Dental is an excellent dental practise, made all the better by Carmen, an excellent commutator, who completes this great team.

Jane Phillips Dr Tim is fabulous. Hes gentle and sensitive to the needs of the phobic. Hint: Take along your mp4 player and sunnies and chill out listening to your favourite tunes. Hell tap you on the arm if he needs you to do something. If you need to spit or if youre in pain during any procedure, raise a hand and tell him and hell give you more pain meds until youre good to go.. Hes really lovely as are all the staff there. After some really bad experiences elsewhere, I used to scream the place down when in any dentist chair. I would rather have let my teeth rot than go to any dentist again. Then I found Tim and I have never had even the slightest quiver or tear since. Seriously, not once! I feel safe, supported and wham, its all over in no time. Seriously, you arent going to get better than this. Take it from a cast iron dentaphobe - this is your man and THIS is the place you want to get your pearly whites done!

Jack Verdins The front desk staff at Kew Dentistry are a pleasure to deal with. They are always courteous and have time for a chat. They are also awesome in an emergency. Yesterday I broke a tooth. A call at 1:55pm had me in for an appointment at 4:00pm. Upon arrival, I sat in the relaxed atmosphere of the waiting area. A massive fish tank is pleasant to watch and quiet music plays in the background. The quality of the premises is a credit to its owners with the place being purpose built to function as a dental practice, which has allowed it to take on a number of specialist services. Upon seeing Jeff Mok, I was glad to hear that my tooth had snapped at the gum-line and that Jeff would be able to rebuild a tooth on top of it. He removed the root in preparation to insert a post to rebuild the tooth around. I was glad to hear that it would all be done in one appointment next week. Thank you everyone for looking after me so efficiently in an emergency.

Edward Taylor The best dentist in Kew on High Street. Dr Peter is amazing. He makes you very feel comfortable and has somehow made every one of my dental treatments pain-free. They even have Netflix on the wall, so you can watch a movie during your dental appointment. Cannot recommend this dental clinic highly enough. So glad this dental practice moved to High St in Kew.

Clare Hooper I attended the clinic for emergency appointment that resulted in the need for extraction. The equipment was substandard the suction didnt work, there was no water available and no regard was given to my anxiety or obvious discomfort during the procedure. The dentist never asked if I was alright while the tooth was being removed and the cost was exorbitant! The assistant almost took her eye out while mixing the filling material and the dentist applied the filling with his finger and didnt adjust it for pressure on surrounding teeth. The receptionist didnt include the extraction on the hicaps claim and obviously didnt know what she needed to do as she did two separate hicaps claims and still missed the most expensive part. I was clearly overwhelmed and upset and despite this the practice manager asked if Id like some free toothpaste to make it better in the worst disregard for patient care Ive witnessed. She continued to ask questions even though I couldnt speak for the amount of gauze in my mouth! Im sure not everyone will have the same experience but personally my experience was so traumatic!

Kerrin Braithwaite I was fortunate to have been referred to Dr Allison Dean by my dentist in 2017. I have found Dr Dean and her team highly professional, efficient, and warm. I feel respected and valued and am very comfortable asking questions. After a 12-month absence from Melbourne due to COVID lockdowns, my gum health deteriorated. I had full confidence in undergoing the procedure Dr Dean suggested, followed by regular checks and appointments with oral hygienist, Dara, throughout 2024. I was given clear and detailed costings prior to treatment commencing. I was delighted at a recent visit to have my own sense that things were markedly improved confirmed with X-Ray and examination. I feel confident moving forward that my gums will remain healthy under maintenance from Dr Dean and her team.

Sam West I booked appointments to deep clean teeth and gums. Sessions with the Principal were charged out at $1250 for one hours treatment. From the moment I stepped into the treatment room to the time I stepped out, on two occasions, was only 45 minutes. At that very high hourly rate, I felt overcharged and cheated. Two sessions with an hygienist, charged out at $340 per hour, were meant to be one hour, but I was ushered in, treated and out within 45 minutes, They always seemed rushed. I was also kept waiting up to 25 minutes before each appointment. Compared to other practices I had visited over the years, I found Kew Periodontics level of treatment less than satisfactory and their charges substantially higher than most. The reception staff I found to be distant, aloof. I have had more positive interactions with an AI robot. Overall a most unpleasant, disappointing and overly expensive experience. XX IN RESPONSE TO kew Periodntics REPLY xx Over charging and shortened treatment time not addressed by Kew Periodontics!! Dont quote an hourly rate, if you have no intention of giving an hour of full service, or adjust the amount charged if a patient is out of the chair sooner.( Kew Periodntics reply to that stinks of B/S) Time overruns of appointments can be understood. However, being short changed on my quoted and allotted treatment times, without adjustment of the very high hourly rates charged, is NOT acceptable. Compounded by the feeling of rushed treatments and below average customer care and service I personally experienced on every appointment in the chair and by reception staff. Which again reinforces my view of the unpleasant, disappointing and overly expensive experience. 100% GENUINE REVIEW FROM A FORMER PATIENT

Delanie Schulte I received a tooth filling and a mouth guard from a dentist at this location 6 months ago. During the filling procedure, the anesthesia wasnt working, so the dentist gave me three separate injections in the same location at the back corner of my jaw quite aggressively. When the anesthesia wore out later in the day, I experienced excruciating pain and am now still feeling discomfort in that location of my jaw 6 months later. I also think there was an error in creating my mouth guard, as it feels like its pushing my teeth in and causes pain. The pain is so bad that I had to stop wearing the guard.

Ron 2024.11.1 After many years, I still can’t forget—or forgive—my experience with this dentist. Without a doubt, this was an encounter with an unethical, uncaring pediatric dentist. Perhaps she has changed due to the bad reputation she’s gained online, but that doesn’t mean she’s become a qualified, compassionate person. I rarely leave reviews, as we all may make mistakes and can sometimes misjudge based on incomplete information. But in this case, I need to make sure others looking for dental care—especially for their children—know exactly what they’re dealing with. This dentist has a truly rotten heart. Our first appointment was shockingly brief. She spent barely 1-2 minutes with my child, and since my child was a bit reluctant, she simply dismissed us, charging the specialist fee and telling us to make another appointment. At the second visit, she spent just a few more minutes before recommending general anesthesia (GA) for a simple extraction, an extreme approach given the situation and my child’s young age. I reluctantly agreed, trusting her credentials and feeling pressured as I was juggling work commitments and had already invested so much time in these visits. The worst part was during the GA surgery itself. With only minutes left in the short 20-minute procedure, her assistant came out and pressured me to sign a consent form for additional, unnecessary treatments, warning that if I didn’t agree, my child might need another GA surgery later! In disbelief, I later asked several reputable dentists about the necessity of this added treatment—and all of them (except the two who initially referred me) confirmed it was unnecessary. Overtreatment is bad enough, but overtreatment for young children is beyond unacceptable. I truly regret ever trusting this dentist, whose rushed, dismissive care and push for extra treatments left me feeling manipulated and deeply disappointed. If you’re looking for genuine, ethical dental care, I strongly urge you to avoid this dentist.

Johnny C I was referred to Dr. Karens clinic by a friend. My child had severe tooth decay, but after a thorough examination at the clinic, a detailed care and surgery plan was developed. Currently, the child has successfully undergone the surgery and is recovering very well without feeling any discomfort. Throughout the entire process, the doctor was extremely professional and patient, inquiring in detail about the childs condition and providing post-operative care instructions. I am grateful to Dr. Karen for the treatment of my child and highly recommend her.

Jill Danne I am so grateful Dr. Karen Kan was recommended to us by a friend (as a third opinion). She is the most thorough and professional dentist I have encountered, and leads an incredibly competent, caring and dedicated team of assistants, including Margaret at the front desk. Our 6 year old daughter required several root canals and crowns under a general anaesthetic, which was a stressful time for us all. Dr. Kan is extremely knowledgeable and provided us with extensive information about the dental issue, treatment, risks, prevention, as well as pre-operative preparation (providing age-appropriate information to our young daughter prior to the general anaesthetic) and post-operative care. She was reassuring, and her interaction with our little one was commendable- at all times I felt like our daughter was in very capable hands. Our daughter experienced negligible discomfort after the procedure and didn’t even require Panadol. We also found the cost of the dental work reasonable in comparison to other clinics we had visited for an opinion. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Karen Kan to any parent looking for a paediatric dentist. Thank you, Dr. Kan, and all the team at Kew Paediatric Group for your exceptional care.

Lelan Ong Dr Karen Kan is highly experienced and a pair of safe hands! She was able to comprehensively assess our daughters condition and identified issues which other dentist had missed. She also patiently explained all the options to us so we could take the best decision for our child. On the day itself, the procedure, under general anaesthetic, went smoothly. We are very pleased with the outcome and have every confidence in Dr Kan and her team.

Pricing was very fair considering its a specialist and they demonstrated integrity by reducing the scope of the work done when wed already approved a more expensive procedure. Our son is a bit sensitive to new environments but never had a single complaint their "bedside manner" with kids is excellent. Cannot recommend highly enough.

His anxiety was reduced with her friendly and efficient nature and the GA procedure couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Dr Kan was extremely thorough and there were no surprises with the outcome. tina wei Tried unsuccessfully to book an appointment with Dr JM this Tuesday, who was recommended by a friend. After reaching out to the reception, they suggested Dr Samantha for a deep clean at 10am. However, I found her approach to be less than gentle, and after the session, I experienced discomfort throughout Wednesday, making it difficult to have lunch and dinner. Consequently, Ive decided to cancel the remaining 3 appointment so with her.
