5 /5 Jenny P: Ive done quite a lot of pilates over the last 5 or more years - both in Melbourne and overseas and its the BEST exercise Id say for body composition, balance, rehab and overall wellbeing.
I signed up to Balance Norths reformer pilates classes and couldnt be happier! From just walking into reception,always greeted warmly and feeling immediately valued was noted and appreciated.
The instructors are all GREAT - I believe I might have done a class with almost all of the pilates staff. Each have their unique style, but all are professional, warm, experienced and offer excellent classes - some get creative and thats fun and offers a challenge.
I was super impressed and satisfied with all. The studio itself is inviting and very welcoming. As a side note, I really enjoyed (and a few others mentioned this in the classes) the wonderful playlist they all had - the music during classes was never overpowering and loud & thumping like other pilates studios where you cant hear the instructors. Best music everrrrr.
All classes at Balance were 10/10 in every way. They were just the right mix of intensity and challenge and well structured and varied for proprioception and strength etc. and I came out after 3 intense weeks with a brand new body! Seriously.
This is a long review, but it deserves it.
I loved all classes, but some were regular ones so I got to experience them more.
I especially loved Mircas classes - the choice and flow of exercises and her clear instructions left no room for error and she honed in on the nuances of pilates with body positioning , adjustments to get the optimal experience. Thank you Mirca!
I also particularly loved Graces class too - a pro, like Mirca and simply gave the best classes with clarity, precision, great pace and challenge (if you want) and always encouraging.
Then, theres Avivas classes of which Im sure her regulars will miss as she moves away from Melbourne. She was a great too! Loved her classes, her energy and smile and fabulous exercises too.
I cant sing all their praises enough.
If I missed any other pilates instructors names whose class I did its implied .
If youre reading this and wondering where to do Pilates reformer classes in the northern suburbs, I highly recommend you do them at Balance North. Their 3 week intro offer is generous if you think about the professionalism and small group instruction youre getting.
You feel like youre in a private class - such is the attention, connection and supervision. Classes are small or full depending on the time you go.
