5 /5 Therese Stegley: I thought I would get this review in before we unfortunately say a ‘soft’ goodbye to BFT APW. My partner and I Patrick have been attending here for 2 years now and I can safely say it’s the best gym in the Essendon Area.
Personally, I don’t really enjoy cardio and as such have always found their trainers to be motivating compared to other BFTs I’ve visited, (I’ve been to 10 different BFTs) A majority of the trainers have higher education in the health and fitness space, many being health care professionals. It’s admirable to see them continue to stay fit, competing in various competitions themselves and setting a good example.
BFT APW training is very technical, and I have never once heard them mention aesthetics as being a reason to do a certain exercise over the other. They focus on form, comradery, and social side of exercise. A lot of the members are also extremely fit and consistent and it’s a nice atmosphere to be around.
Another thing worth noting is that they are very pro training during pregnancy and as a Pelvic Physio I have always admired this and their ability to offer alternatives to prenatal pop.
We really appreciate that the trainers got so involved with Hyrox and cheered on members who competed. They also run social events as well. Essendon locals, you would be silly to not consider a trial at BFT Aiport West.
The only reason we are parting ways is that we are moving to west Melbourne but will definitely be back every now and then for a visit.
