1 /5 Celeste: I requested for my gold bangle to be fixed. It was given to me by my parents. So very sentimental. It was faulty in two sections. 1, it wasn’t closing properly, 2, there are two sections of the bangle that join together to create one piece, & the joiner had broken. I went in & spoke to a gentleman & he told me the joinery could be fixed. I informed him that it also didn’t close properly & he said he would speak to the jeweller & ask if this was fixable. He came back & said yes. Quoted me & I was happy with the price. Mind you I would have paid $500 to fix such a sentimental piece. That same day I also bought two gold candle holders which was over a hundred dollars. He told me that it should be ready by Friday & I expected a call to notify me when it was done, but no one called. So I called them weeks later & they told me my bangle was ready to be picked up. I went in & when the lady gave me my bracelet I saw they had only fixed the joinery of the two sections that meet, but not the latch as requested. So the bangle still doesn’t close properly. She went & asked the jeweller about it & in response the jeweller said he had spent hours on it. I said ok but it’s not fixed in the two places I requested. He said well that’s a $300 -$400 dollar job. The original quote was $120. He also said only the joinery was mentioned on the docket. Firstly, I had no problem with that price, I just wanted my bangle fixed. Secondly, that isn’t all I asked for, which I tried to relay. But instead of saying we can do that for you, sorry for the miscommunication, the owner stepped in. Started telling me I couldn’t say that it was confirmed on the day that it could be fixed. Sorry? What? She was so obnoxious, & naturally it upset me. Also I confused the payment I made on the day (for the two candle sticks & only remembered paying; not that it was ONLY for the candle sticks) & not the bracelet. So that’s my bad, as I said to them I’m believe I paid on that day. Which the jeweller said “you’re even going to dispute that.” What is wrong with these people? I said I’m sorry if I mistakenly thought I had paid that day & I’m happy to pay. But just the manner in which they were talking to me is disgusting. The owner was still laying into me so I said to her, I’m sorry I’m relaying what happened & the reality of the situation which she kept saying I had no right to say. She said I was rude but she was the one attacking me. She kept going so I took out my phone & said please keep talking to me like that. She said “what are you going to do” smugly & I said post it. I also asked for her name which she refused to give me. I would be embarrassed too if I were you. Please note I walked into the shop dressed poorly. My dad has just come home from the hospital after a back operation & so I have been caring for him leaving little time for myself. If I was dressed the way I usually am, I doubt I would have been treated that way. The jeweller said I could just take the bangle at no cost. The owner reiterated we’re not going to fix it. Meanwhile after all that, what makes you think I still want to pay you for my business. I told them I would be writing a review, the jeweller said quote “you’re going to be one of those” I replied absolutely! Why would I want other people to encounter these bullies, & have their jewellery repairs half done. Please look at the pictures & judge for yourself if this translates to a professional job. Fair warning find a business who doesn’t look down on others and provides a service worth paying for… Further edit: as expected their response does not relay my concerns but instead is trying to paint themselves in a positive light & gaslight me & the public by making out as if I was the problem. Screaming was I? Laughable. I have already stated two portions were to be fixed regardless of the miscommunication & what was on the receipt. The owner was the aggressor, I just refused to stand for it. Now you’re the nice guy when everyone is watching? Completely narcissistic.
