Raf P A few weeks ago I had to make a submission to AFCA to dispute a decision made by the insurer for an investment property. As the issue is quite a large sum, I spoke to a few lawyers to see the best way to tackle the issue. logan goddard Dont use this law firm. They rush everything, do not fight or have your back rather swiftly ignore things to get your money and out the door. One of their lawyers did not read over a deed properly and did not let me know there was $44,000 hidden fees in my settlement otherwise clearly i would not have signed. Also did not bother to fight the reason why i apparantly defaulted with a dodgy arse private lender loan nor look into the illegal action of loan company coming to my house to change locks with no court order or sheriff . i found i was short $44,000 settlement day and was left scrambling around trying to find it. Even the conveyencer jenny under the lawyer was shocked that i was short and even she failed to miss that i was going to be short. If it was not for my friend lending me the money which still cant believe then i would have lost my house i purchased. I was bribed on the phone that i would not make any further complaints otherwise they just wont go ahead with settlement put me under pressue on the day saying it which was so rude and unprofessional after i just got smacked with a 44k bill. They did not acknowledge their actions nor did i even get an apology. No remorse or sympathy that i am a single mum smacked with a big bill hanging over my head now. You would think a big lawyer firm with insurance would help cover the costs i lost or even the gesture of paying me back my money for a service which was not done correctly and cost me. People in Australia do not know how to do their job properly and due diligence and i am the one left to cop it. This would not happen in the UK. I am proceeding to make a complaint about this company. They can try and reply about my mental health and say i had alot of issues with this private lender loan and previous house sale but that just highlights even more so why they should have been more vigilent in the events that unfolded and the deeds that needed signing. The fact a lawyer cant acknowledge where he went wrong should not even be a lawyer. Aragont and Lazy is the word. Dont know how people like this can sleep at night knowing they added to ruining a poor girls life.
