Lyle Stone It’s a nice walk out to refuge rock through the Scribbly Gums, though sturdy shoes are required because there are loose rocks along the track. Refuge Rock is a great spot to sit and relax and appreciate nature, or have a picnic. Lots of room for social distancing. It’s quite out in the open but there are some slightly shaded areas. The walk is very doable with kids if you’re willing and able to carry them part of the way.

julie kitchen We explored this walk a couple days ago because it is so close to the area weve just moved to and we needed a breath of fresh air. The walk was just what we needed! It was great (walking in from the start of Trevors Lane, on Patricia Place), getting into the bush and away from civilization for a bit. It was beautiful to see a number of different Banksia flowering, plus the Scribbly Gums. We were amazed at how extensive Refuge Rock is: it seems to go on and on, and has some lovely bush views. The walk is fairly easy, but there are some rocky patches of path. It is NOT well signposted, but we found our way easily enough following the trail using Google Maps. We continued on from Refuge Rock, to find the Natural Arch.

Ollie Hunt // Walking tracks are very much open. // Fantastic views of the valley and Bush, a great place to come for a peaceful walk. I have been coming here for hikes at night for years but have only recently visited during the day, totally different experience. Really interesting rock formations, beware there is alot of glass shards around the area unfortunately so be careful

Gayathri Sivaji Pleasant space for children and families in the community. Multiple sport areas are available across. Unsure if there is a restroom area but I couldn’t find one. Great walking track.closest to Cherrybrook village and Carlile aquatic centre. A min away from Cherrybrook community centre.

Harrison Jeffs Nice to have such large sporting facilities close to home. The new building looks suspiciously identical to the one I designed in CAD back in 2013. Went for a run around the track which is well maintained along with the rest of the park.

VITAHOUSE HEALTH The walk is interesting. We have tried to walk up and down. We have found out that we were able to walk to Westleigh. It is amazing! It would take us 2-4 hours to complete the trip. Water is essential! We must carry sufficient water to last the entire trip.

rosemary illangakoon Went on a rainy day… very adventurous walk ( due to rain) lack of signs to show the path. But if you are an adventurous bunch you can always have a great time. Near the water areas you find leeches so be mindful. If not for leeches it’s all good. During rain the water does over flow in some areas so be mindful of water depth before getting in.

Gaurav Chhabra Its nice walk and cool rain forest merge into another walk. Council should put more sign, train information map and grade information. Overall nice family day out as kids play is great and option to have a drink or icecream from Ampol.

Ann Jiwie The Callicoma Walk was a pretty challenging hike, not just because of the walk itself but knowing where to go. Using google maps I drove to the location that took me to the Lakes of Cherry brook at the beginning. Found pretty easy parking on the streets that weren’t limited. Loved the trail that surrounded the small lake, It was easy to walk around and has a park nearby for kids to enjoy. Took me a bit to realise that it wasn’t the actual hike, I unfortunately didn’t stay 100% on track and just followed where the signs took me. After a bit of walking deeper into the forest area I reached an intersection that connected to more trails, upon trial and error I finally found myself on the right track again only to turn back due to the interference of fauna and how steep and tight the trail has gotten. Was a bit anxious to go by myself, would highly recommend doing this with a group of people. Also bring lots of water, the trails I took did not had any baublers other than the one near the park. Overall I would definitely come back again but have an actual map and some people to come along with!

Daithí Kilcourse A very nice small relaxing walk or you can sit and enjoy a meal. There are some nice areas along the way to view the ducks swimming or spot the wildlife in the trees. The only sad thing is that the place was overgrown and looked unkept for awhile. It also links to others walks close by.

S W The playground is perfect for toddlers. The whole place isnt too big but brings enough fun, kids love it.

Rishi Suri A nice small park on the main road with waterfall, small walk trails and ok type park for toddlers to play . The nature beauty is that makes this place a visit provides a nice feeling when you visit. There is a mall right opposite and chairs with benches if you want to do picnic.

Rakesh Prasad Chaturvedi The Lakes of Cherrybrook form an interesting hub. The Macquarie Drive and Shepherd Drive junction lies  at one corner, with their respective bus stands on the parameter; The Callicoma Bush Walk passes through it.  Cherrybrook Village shopping centre and a petrol/ service station lie just across the road.  The Greenway Park- Community Centre and a dog park are within 200 metres. Yet, its a quaint area amidst tall trees; a grass belt separates the lakes from the road. A cemented walkway, benches, barbecue area, picnic tables, drinking fountain for humans and pets are imaginatively placed. A large childrens play area, still being further improved, lies just off the water body. Theres fair biodiversity. Ducks, fishes, birds, iguanas, and many variety of plants abound. The point is, accessibility is no problem, parking is no problem. Its a good transit halt for walkers... I often grab a sandwich and coffee from Cherrybrook Village Shopping Centre and sit out leisurely in the Sun as part of my long walks. Ditto if I need to keep company to my grandchildren as their parents go grocery shopping at the Cherrybrook shopping centre. Its always a new experience in entertainment and learning. And a Joy!!
