Ben I cant speak to the quality of the high difficulty climbs, but anything mid difficulty down is always great fun. Fortunately, Blochaus is also huge and has an excellent variety of style and difficuly of their routes and the setting team are always quite creative in the way they set. The day pass pricing is very standard for most gyms, but their membership is excellent value clicking in at the price of one day pass per week - highly worth it if you plan to go even just once a week. Only downside is the location, which is quite out of the way even by driving. It does makes sense, though, as it would be hard to find somewhere the same size in a more accessible spot.

Kunal BlocHaus Bouldering Port Melbourne is hands down one of the best climbing gyms I’ve been to! The facility is clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with climbers of all skill levels in mind. The route setting is top-notch — creative, challenging, and regularly updated, which keeps things fresh every visit. The staff are super friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to give tips or help out if you’re stuck on a problem. I also appreciate the strong sense of community here — it’s a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone supports each other. Whether you’re a beginner just starting out or an experienced climber looking to push your limits, BlocHaus is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Thomas Emmanouilidis Do not pay for the sauna facilities at this gym! It is a joke. Either the sauna is cold when you get there because someone before you turned it off or no one turned it back on because its on a timer. Even after calling multiple times before you get there to ensure that it is hot when you are there it still isnt, just a waste of money. The sauna is dirty all the time. I hope the owner reads the feedback and takes it into consideration because the amount of money for this level of membership is probably the most expensive out of every gym competitor. The only reason you would go here is because you live within walking distance or else you would go somewhere else. The phone calls rarely get answered so why bother calling when you have any queries to do with your gym membership and facilities. The app is terrible for bookings also since moving to the new Snap Fitness app from the MindBody app. Didnt want to write this review but I have had enough from this gym. Between my friend and myself we pay around $240 a month and get terrible service.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely care about members’ progress. The atmosphere is welcoming and motivating, making every workout something I look forward to. GG001 RE-RACK YOUR WEIGHT Extremely limited equipment, and machines are always broken. Theres a serious lack of variety, which makes it hard to get a complete workout. On top of that, the gym culture is very poor, members consistently leave weights scattered around, and there seems to be little to no enforcement of basic gym etiquette. If it weren’t for the convenient location, I doubt this gym would still be in business.

Having been a KX follower I will only be going to South Pacific from now on thanks to Sav. Love her. Her energy is kind and caring and is an excellent with instruction. I have been on a trial and now have decided to stay. xx

Christopher Currie Facilities are great, you wont find a gym with a more extensive range of workout equipment. It does get quite crowded so fortunately there are a lot of options for the popular machines. Theres heaps of space for bicycle parking, which is often easier than finding a car park. My issue is with the cleaning and maintenance. Theres some stretching mats in front of mirrors that seem to get neglected when cleaning, they can get pretty gross. The other recurring issue is the sauna in the mens changeroom. Its had a sign saying "temporarily out of order" for over a month now, which is starting to seem a bit more permanent Great gym with a lot of potential, just needs a few tweaks

Michael D I visited Derrimut 24:7 Port Melbourne while travelling from interstate Queensland as a Fitness Passport holder, and unfortunately, there were several issues that stood out during my visit. Parking First off, there is no allocated parking for the gym. You have to find street parking, which can be quite difficult in that area. For a gym of this size, I was surprised there was not at least some dedicated parking available. Cleanliness and Hygiene This was one of my main concerns. I noticed that more than half of the people training were not using towels, and there were no sanitation or wipe stations anywhere to clean the equipment between use. In this day and age, that is disappointing. On a positive note, the bathrooms were modern and clean, so credit where it is due. Floor Space and Layout The gym floor felt quite cramped. We struggled to even find a section to do walking lunges, which says a lot given how big the building is meant to be. There is certainly a lot of equipment, but it feels like quantity over quality. The brands are all mixed including Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, and a couple of others which makes the setup feel chaotic. There is no clear organisation, for example, all leg machines grouped together. Everything just seems scattered around randomly. Cafe and Protein Bar We tried to buy a protein shake after training, but the ladies behind the counter told us they had run out of nearly all ingredients, except for two very basic options. For a large modern gym, that is not a great look. Payment Options Another downside is that there are no cash payments allowed. You have to pay by card only, which I personally think is un-Australian. It is something that really annoys me when businesses refuse to accept legal tender. Crowd and Atmosphere We attended at about 3 p.m. on a Tuesday, which you would think would be off peak, but the place was absolutely packed. I would hate to imagine what it is like at 5 p.m. It was difficult to move around or get access to certain machines. Staff and Management Staff were okay. I would give them about 7 out of 10. They were polite but did not seem overly engaged. I asked if there was a manager around because I wanted to share some constructive feedback, but I was told the manager finishes at 2 p.m. For a busy facility like this, that just adds to the feeling that there is a lack of care or oversight. Fitness Passport Holders One positive I will note is that as a Fitness Passport member, I appreciated that they do not charge a tag or key fob fee. A lot of franchise gyms charge exorbitant prices just to access the facility, so credit where it is due. It is nice to see Derrimut not doing that. Overall Impression The gym looks good on the surface and has plenty of equipment, but the layout, cleanliness, and overall experience were disappointing. I was not impressed, and I doubt I would return.

It’s the best environment to train in, the equipment and facilities are far superior to anything else in Melbourne. Not to mention the staff who really make this space so special. Not to mention the cafe is incredible !

Moe Abs Very clean gym (toilets and floor) , friendly staff and serious goal orientated community , members and personal trainers. Equipment is always well maintained and it’s not very busy . Only downside is parking but over time you just learn to park at a distance and walk (why not esp some walk on a treadmill and complain about parking) parking is always an issue in inner suburbs and any gym nearby will have the same downside. 10/10

Tina Chambers I dropped into CrossFit South Wharf while visiting Australia, and Coach Raff gave me a single snatch cue that completely changed how I move. I didn’t realize how much it stuck until I got back to my home gym in the States — my fellow coaches immediately noticed the improvement. Months later, that one cue helped me hit a lifetime snatch PR (115#)! I’ve been doing CrossFit for years, and it finally clicked because of something Raff said in one short session. I’m a coach myself, and I still use the same cues he gave me with my own athletes. If you’re serious about moving better, whether you’re a local or just dropping in, do yourself a favor and train here. Raff doesn’t just coach lifts — he changes them for good.

Laura Pigdon I started training with 3PT after being a member at other local Port Melbourne gyms where I never felt comfortable. The friendly atmosphere at 3PT had me feeling at home right away. The variety of equipment, knowledgeable coaches who share incredible and motivating information both on the gym floor and through additional content, make 3PT exceptional. I cant recommend them enough.

Thais Clinquart My overall experience is just amazing since I started ( I am in my second challenge). All the programs are more than just a body challenge. It is a real exercise to balance body and mind! All the trainers are absolutely professional. Ultimate You, South Melbourne, has the BEST culture and sense of community I have ever seen in a training program. Nicole, who first contacted me was absolutely helpful and if it wasnt her extra help I wouldnt be able to start the challenge/gym. David, Katherine, Julian and Fiona at the cafe are just amazing cheering and supporting everyone in the training, every single day! They also have always the best snacks to recommend according to our trainings. Cameron, Mike and Tarren, you guys ROCK! Each one of you just make every class fun and hard! You guys always find a way to push us in a positive way, even in the hardest classes with the most "impossible executed" exercises you give the best SUPPORT and we overcome our limit in a very positive way! People have noticed the changes too, often commenting that I look healthier and more energised—but what’s really made the difference is how I feel. The programs at FXM have helped me take ownership of my habits—what I eat, how I move, and how I show up each day. Personal training with Melvin has been a huge part of that. My mobility has improved, and I’m now lifting heavier weights with good technique and confidence. Lynn Sartori I recently started training at Momentum and I couldn’t be happier. The vibe is super welcoming, and Nathan and Nic could not be more lovely. I came to learn to lift (as an older woman) and the instruction and encouragement have been top level. Momentum is such a great find. So rare to find a gym where women are so empowered to lift heavy, under great supervision. Highly recommend this lovely gym community.

Alexandra Legovich I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first joined Strong Pilates Port Melbourne around 5 months ago but now I can’t imagine my week without it! From day one, Remm and Dylan made me feel so welcomed. You can tell that they genuinely care and have built something people want to be a part of. The culture they’ve created is huge part of what makes this studio so special. The classes are challenging but addictive. No two classes feel the same which keeps things interesting but the structured training blocks still provide a sense of progression. I’ve been able to build strength, improve endurance and track personal progress from week to week without it feeling repetitive. Each instructor brings their own style and energy but they all share the same supportive down to earth attitude that makes you feel capable and included. They strike the perfect balance between pushing you and keeping it fun. If you’re looking for a workout that actually keeps you coming back (and has you feeling smug post-class), this is it. So if you’re thinking about it, just do it! You’ll thank yourself later

Eliza Raeburn I initially joined Strong Port Melbourne in Nov 2023, after trying many different Pilates studios, Gyms and other fitness programs, not knowing what to expect with the Strong workouts. After initially taking a little bit of time to get used to how the workouts were structured, I came to enjoy the variety that Strong offers. Whilst, I enjoy the workouts that’s not what has kept me going back. The environment that Remm and Dyl, along with all the amazing instructors Jess, Em, Liv to name just a few, have created is exceptional. As someone who struggles with self confidence the environment at Strong Port Melbourne has meant I always feel comfortable whenever I’m in the studio!

Stuart McKenzie Dom is a master of his craft. I remember Dom from high school as a gregarious, humorous and empathetic guy but not the lean mean fighting machine that he is today. Dom brings an understanding of the struggle to get fit that is, based on my interactions, rare in most personal trainers. Combine that with his extensive experience and his first class knowledge, you are in very good hands. Have just completed my first twelve weeks with Dom and immediately signed up for further training.

Vinny Magrath I cannot recommend FB Fitness highly enough. Having had a break from going to any gym for a couple of years I was, like most, nervous to step foot back into one. Five minutes in and I felt like I’d been training there for years. Super motivated coaches that pay attention to everyone’s ability, a great mix of classes structured around a 6-week program (which itself is a great motivator to set goals by) along with an infrared sauna for recovery and a full body scanner for accountability! I did their 6-week Elevate program along with a group of other members and encourage anyone who wants to step it up a notch to do the same - a really well structured 6-week program focused around nutrition, training and mindset. So happy I took the leap of faith joining the FB community.

Sally Allaway Biomechanics are fantastic. Alister MacInnes helped me understand and adopt a fitness program tailored to my age and health history. (Ive had a broken shoulder.) I loved working with Alister because he clearly knows exercise physiology extremely well; he listens to ensure what he suggests meets the need of his clients; and he keeps up to date with his field and any new research. Best of all hes a pleasure to work with - keen, caring and friendly. A lovely person. I highly recommend Alister and Biomechanics services. (By the way, they have a great app that guides you through your exercise program.)

Chang Reggie (Changy) I have attended BioMechanics for the past couple of years, and I have always found it as a welcoming place to get active and remain active. Alister, the person who I see on a weekly basis is always on the ball about how I feel on that current day, and works with me instead of against me, like Ive had with previous personal training services or physios. The facilities are top notch, theres equipment for every workout you require, and the expertise of the exercise physios makes it feel like they know what you need to work on when you need it. I have always felt included at BioMechanics, both at the Footscray clinic as well as now the Port Melbourne clinic where I spend a majority of my time here now. As a non-binary queer person who often does not feel included in other gym like venues, the Biomechanics help me feel accustomed to it.

Catherine Arkoudis This is honestly the BEST online program I have ever followed. Beating all the well known ones that everyone pays a fortune to subscribe to. The programming is fantastic and all you need are a few kettlebells. Ive been using this program online for 3 years so far and the strength it has given my core and glutes and actually everything is phenomenal. The people running this program are great and passionate about what they do. They have always been very responsive and supportive. Love it - you wont regret it.
